Your comfort, your questions, your headspace, your partner's nerves. We work alongside your medical team, never against them. Yes. Doula support isn't just for unmedicated births. No matter how your baby arrives, there are still hours of labor beforehand, decisions to navigate, and a whole postpartum experience on the other side. Some of the most meaningful support I've provided has been during epidural and cesarean births.
Never! Your partner is one of the most important people in that room and I make sure he doesn't feel sidelined or helpless. I help him understand what's happening at each stage, give him a role that's actually useful, and make sure someone is checking on him too because nobody ever does.
Most of my families reach out in the second trimester, which gives us enough time to build a real relationship before your birth. But I've worked with moms who reached out at 36 weeks and moms who called before their first OB appointment. There's no wrong time. The earlier we connect, the more prepared you'll feel.
